It's been a few weeks since I've updated everyone on little W. He took his first flight Veteran's Day weekend to Alabama. It was also his first visit to our farm. He and I went to celebrate Veteran's Day with my grandparents. We were able to have dinner together with the Yeager's and Pawpaw Thurmon showed us pictures of his recent Navy reunion in Texas. Then on Tuesday, we went to Huntsville for a very special recognition ceremony that my Pawpaw Hooten was a part of. After all these years, he was awarded a long-overdue Bronze star from the US Military. Click here to read the wonderful article, "Medal Yes, Hero No". All in all it was great weekend spent with family and friends in beautiful North Alabama where fall leaves actually exist.
